(From marketwire) -- Most Australian businesses are limiting their own growth by having the wrong people in key roles, according to new research by Taleo Corporation, the global leader of SaaS-based Talent Management solutions.

In a survey of more than 100 HR decision makers in leading Australian companies, Taleo found that half expect their workforce to expand in the next 12 months. But managers at 60 percent of those companies don't believe they have the right people in the right jobs to drive growth.

This alarming insight is revealed in a new whitepaper released today by Taleo. By highlighting a crucial roadblock to growth, the paper sheds light on a problem that companies face worldwide. But the paper also points to a solution by showing how Australian businesses can improve their "talent mobility" -- the ability to rapidly and transparently move people from role to role and function to function in a highly volatile business environment -- to drive growth, increase revenue and reduce costs.

(From LRN) -- Ethics and compliance executives indicate that culture, values and leadership are now the critical priorities for building successful ethics and compliance initiatives, a new report from LRN finds. Ethics and compliance leaders who participated in the survey see themselves as the champions for creating ethical, values-based cultures: 58 percent of them agree that the primary mandate of their efforts is to ensure ethical behaviors and alignment with core values. In contrast, only 42 percent believe their core mandate is legal and regulatory compliance. Further, 68 percent indicate that creating long-term value for the business is a principal benefit of promoting an ethical culture.

The Agriculture Department's acting chief human capital officer Donald Sanders explains the agency's administrative reorganization in simple terms.

It's all about becoming a performance driven and results oriented organization.

Sanders, who spoke recently at the Human Capital Federal Management conference in Arlington, Va., sponsored by Worldwide Business Research, says the Office of Management and Budget is pushing agencies in this direction. OMB has asked agencies to develop three-to-eight high performance goals they can achieve in the next 12-to-18 months.

"We are in the midst of transforming how our HR function supports our core mission areas," he says. "One thing we understand in the future the human resources function will have to play a more active role in engaging senior managers and providing them with the technical consulting they need in terms of people strategies, particularly talent management."
