T+D CIted in The CPA Journal

May 21, 2009 12:32 by Kristen Fyfe

Sometimes you just never know where ASTD's good work is going to show up in the media.  The CPA Journal recently quoted from T+D!  In an article titled "Using Computer Simulation to Recruit and Train Generation Y Accountants," a story from the NOVEMBER 2002 issue of T+D is cited.  Talk about long shelf life for good content!

Here's the relevant paragraph:

"Many organizations are also recognizing the reality that if they want to recruit the best talent, they need to invest resources in providing interactive, appealing, and entertaining programs that will attract Yers. Computer simulations provide an excellent opportunity to break away from the traditional methods of recruiting and training. Kevin Oakes, former CEO of Click2learn and SumTotal, defines simulations as models that portray a particular situation and allow users to interact with them ("Practice Makes Perfect-E-Learning-Simulation in Training," T+D Magazine, November 2002)."

Agreed on this. If you really want to have the best talents to help you with anything, you should have enough to invest in finding resources. The used of modern technologies are really a bog help in this modern day world.

So True! If you need quality don't settle for less. Just like... If you need great sales output, set aside a certain budget for advertising. You spend to sell and you reap tenfolds in return. If you need real talents, you must invest! It's a wise decision to recruit the best! At the end of the day...you'll get what you've expected in return.
